  • I’m not Colin sexton fan or anything but I don’t thought he deserves the slander in this video. He’s growing into a legitimate all star. If u watch him play his offensive skills are incredible. He’s a real talent not fake stats guy like the others in the video.

  • I agree with you about the overall lack of defensive effort but there is a reason for that. The current rules prohibit the players from doing the things that they were allowed to do defensively in the past. One prime example is not being able to hand check. Having that circle under the basket really just gives the defense a reason not to try and contest it when a player drives to the basket. There was also no such thing as a flagrant foul in the 90’s. Back then fouls that were considered just normal would get you suspended for 10 games now.

  • I feel like one thing people don’t realize is that the reason this generation barely plays defence is because, they save there energy for the post season. Because for like almost 200 days NBA players play games like every other day so they save there energy. I feel that’s really overlooked. You can call it smart or scary but it makes the play offs more entertaining.

  • 6:44 this kinda reminds me of how in Overwatch League, an esport, initially the typical strategy was 2 Tanks, 2 Damage, 2 Healers. But then an amateur level team came around called Goats, and they decided to run 3 Tanks and 3 Healers, and it worked and they won a lot using that strategy. Suddenly teams in the Overwatch League started using that strategy too, which had since became known as the Goats Meta. Unfortunately unlike the NBA’s offensive explosion, Goats Meta SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED to watch because the battles within the game grinded down to a crawl because the strategy was built around sustainability and drawing out fights.

  • First thing first 3 pt shot is an very important element for team to survive in this generation of basketball. All teams that won championship in refent years are good 3pt shooting team. Dallas heat, cavs , spurs, gsw.raptors. 2nd. pacing of the game. In the past people used to search for basket/shots as close as to thr rim as possible. (Back then zone defense was illegal to made more 1on1 star players, shorten 3pt line to allow more scoring)- Now if its an open shot for most team and most situation you would take an open 3 pt shot over contested lay up. In short. The past had a much slower offensive game and now we have higher pace offensive game. Another thing. To counter and eliminate zoning. Usa and euro basketball created higher quantity of shooters and quality of shooters to also help scorers to space the floor or knock the shots when pass out to them. Back then most scorers doesnt even focus on developing a really strong 3pt game. Something like demar derozen is experience, they simply dont feel the needs to which is hugely mistaken. Fyi jordan only shot 28.8% for 3pt if you take out those season nba shorten the 3pt line. So all in all, the past players wont be able to thrive in terms of efficiency in olaying in todays league because they are not equip and surrounding with the right players or offensive mindset. Phil jackson triangle offense has been outdated in this generation. He tried many times to bring it back but it simplic doesmt work.

It was rough and physical. That's why Birdd, Magic, Isiah Thomas, Malone, Pippen, Dr. J, Barkley, Stockton, Moses Malone, Robinson, Ewing, Reggie Miller etc where so awesome.

    hopinmy baghopinmy bagPrije 10 sati
  • that Tony Parker example was pretty bad though. Parker was never a good 3 point shooter, and it took him so long to even get that good. The big reason he was so efficient from 3 was because he had good shot selection. In today's NBA I'm not sure Tony even gets the time to develop his shot and won't be getting all those easy kickouts because they're doubling the big man down low and leaving the corners open.

    Esteban BEsteban BPrije 10 sati

  • Players are not more skilled now than they were then. Guys back then could shoot from far it just didn't make sense to do it. Guys could jump just as high but they'd get bridged if they tried it in the crowded lane. The game is wide open now. No big men in the paint for the most part. Remove 28 slower guys for more agile guys and there it is.

  • Bravo 👏 Someone had to talk about this. A lot of players now a days are walking buckets. The game has changed a lot: faster pace, more threes and no consistent defense for a full game (except for playoffs). Players don’t want to be dunked on because of the negative exposure to social media so they’ll just watch as someone enters the zone and dunks. Plus, the current commissioner has changed the rules significantly to favor offense. Not just offense, but short players like such as Stephen Curry and Trey Young. Finally, players in the league are very young. There’s not a lot of older guys balling anymore. Rookies come out looking like all stars now a days.
