  • Hey man love the video but you really should not use a vacuum cleaner for the fuel tank that is really dangerous because the petrol is still vaporizing and that will go through your hot vacuum cleaner and if there is sufficient heat it will explode, I am being extremely serious the bag in the vacuum cleaner will collect all of the petrol and create an explosion. I am not saying this to sound like a smart-ass it is really because a mechanic shop burned down in my country when the owners son was doing the same thing as you and it did explode.

  • I heard something a long time ago that's stuck with me all these years through my own car projects: _"Professional_ just means you paid somebody to do it." 5,000€ for backwards fuel filters, bad coils, and the wrong plugs doesn't surprise me at all, unfortunately. The same people who could afford these cars new tend to prefer writing checks to getting their own hands dirty, and there are other people who are happy to take that money and do the absolute bare minimum. In my experience, 95% of the work I have to do on a car I own is _undoing_ what's been done to it before I got my hands on it, including lots of things done by so-called "professional" mechanics, fab shops, tuners, stereo installers, and so on. My current toy car is a "professionally built" 650hp Audi with ~$75k worth of parts and labor dumped into it. Previous owner is a legit millionaire, and he just sprayed this thing with the money hose. All the best parts money could buy. Time, depreciation, and his desire for newer/better/faster cars meant a regular guy like me could afford it (less than the cost of a new A3). It's a monster, but the more I dig (for general maintenance), the more cut corners, shoddy craftsmanship, and lazy cheap incompetent "professional" work I find. This guy was duped by a shop he gave PILES of money to, for years, and he never even knew it! He sang their praises and pushed his friends their way for business. Meanwhile, he was getting fleeced.

The vacuum can suck up those fumes, and put them next to an electric motor can can spark. Just don't want to see you go kaboom.

  • I don`t know construction of this engine, but how is possible to fire up without belt. In most of these cases the engine will be gone due to beat between valves and pistons, may be here is different situation. Or may be there is a chain about sync the shafts and this belt is only for the additional stuff like water pump, AC ect.

Don't be frightened to vocal some tasteful German expletives while working on these machines. All cars can be a pain most times. English translations optional...im always down 4 a laugh lol. I have here an advert for a 'panzer' BMW 12 cylinder, that was owned by the Security Police of Bulgaria. It really is something for you! Very special and can be picked up in Bulgaria (which is not far from your native country i think?) for just € 10.000. Well maintained and you could say: bulletproof... • Thanks for posting about rescuing one of these magnificent V12 super sedans - the king of luxury sedans in the 1980's! My Dad had the first one here in our town in 87: granite grey on grey 88 750iL when I was 8 years old. I think you will really appreciate this car once you have it sorted - the short front overhang and forward front seat placement give the impression of a much smaller car when driving it, and the 296hp V12 is more than adequate for triple digit sprints on der Autobahn! My old man used to dust off L98 Corvettes on the highway regularly with the 750, as well as other more notable sports cars of the day. Sadly, that car is long gone and so is he, but I am contemplating buying one that I know of local to me after watching your video!

    SlipAngle79SlipAngle79Prije 8 dana
    • My father didn't had the 750 but the 735 manual. I even have a picture from when went to the dealer to buy an E38 with the E32 infront. Sadly I wasn't old enough to drive that car, but I had the opportunitie with the E38. But I remember when my (back then) neighbour got his driving license, he asked my father if he can take that car for a joyride. He was the oldest of the clique back then & we hopped in. Many years later, he became my Driving instructor & whenever I point that story from that particular day out, he get's embarassed (because of all that bullshit he did on that day). I really like the semi-agressive timeless look of that car. Sadly there aren't many around with low mileage & alltough there is one right now, I have other priorities.
